SCHIPHOL GROUNDHANDLING USER COMMITTEE

The regulation groundhandling airfields of 4 February 1998, which is based on the Council Directive 96/67/EC of 15 October 1996 (access to the groundhandling market at community airports), lays down in Article 8 that the operator of the airfield must establish a consultative body for its users. Amsterdam Airport Schiphol has therefore established the Schiphol Groundhandling User Committee [SGUC]. The SGUC does not have an own legal individuality and can therefore not represent the users. Each member of the SGUC brings forward his own point of view.

Each user of Schiphol Airport is a member of the SGUC. “User” is understood to mean each legal person that transports passengers and/or cargo by air. Users can be represented by the Schiphol Airline Operators Committee, the Association of Cargo Airlines in the Netherlands [ACAN].

At least once a year the SGUC consults with the airport operator about the application of the regulation and the charges of ground handling services and facilities.

Momentarily the SGUC Board consists of the following members:

Ankie Prokos – Chairman
Hans de Bruijn – Secretary General
Bas van der Jagt – Board Member
Pim de Goederen – Board Member
Frank Polder – Board Member
Reinier van der Marel – Office Manager
